About

Tigers Tracks was launched in July of 2009 following the relative success of my first blog, Always A Tiger.  It was created with the goal of bringing all Tigers fans a place they could come every day to gather information and analysis of the team, as well as providing a place to discuss the happenings of the Detroit Tigers.

The author/founder/Grand Poo-bah is John Parent.  I originally began my online postings over at Bless You Boys under the screen name “BigJP”, which I still use at that site.  Originally from Lima, Ohio, I attended Bowling Green State University where I studied English and learned the ways of the world.

I met my wife through my then-fiance (which is a long, but now quite amusing story that I will be happy to share via email if you want to hear it), and we were married on April 4, 2008.  I have two wonderful step-children, Lillian and Sebastian.  Our son, Leyton, was born in October of 2008 and we have another little one coming in March of 2010.

My lifelong love of the Tigers and baseball in general was fostered by my grandfather and my dad, and by listening to Ernie Harwell on WJR.  My favorite Tigers are Lou Whitaker, Cecil Fielder, and Brandon Inge.  I think Barry Bonds is the greatest player I have ever seen, regardless of steroids.

Any input or suggestions are most welcome, I can be reached at johnparent@tigerstracks.com or leave a comment.  Thanks for stopping by.
